Bluetick Coonhound

In the early 1900's, breeders crossed a 'Galloway' strain of coonhounds with others to produce the trailing and treeing dog we now call the Bluetick Coonhound. One of the side benefits to its great hunting ability was the distinctive blue color. The Bluetick Coonhound is a courageous working dog that makes an excellent hunter and requires vigorous, regular exercise.
